WAREHAM — An Onset man riding a bicycle was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle operated by a Plympton teen, police said.
The man, 55, suffered serious, unspecified injuries Saturday evening and was transported by Wareham EMS to Rhode Island Hospital, according to Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh.
Preliminary investigation indicates the Onset man was struck by a vehicle operated by a 17-year-old male Plympton resident on Twelfth Street, a heavily settled neighborhood side street, Walsh said in a news release.
At about 5 p.m., Wareham police and EMS and Onset Fire Department personnel responded to the area of 39 Twelfth St. in the Onset section of Wareham regarding a reported motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian struck while riding a bicycle, Walsh said.
Police did not release more details and said further updates will be provided when they become available.
