DARTMOUTH — A local teenager suffered minor injuries in an early morning crash Friday on Reed Road, police said.

The 18-year-old, who is from Dartmouth, was transported to St. Luke's Hospital as a precaution, according to Detective Kyle Costa, a spokesman for the Dartmouth Police Department.

The teen, who was operating a 2001 Yukon, was not identified by police.

Police and other emergency personnel responded to the crash about 2 a.m. and observed that the vehicle struck a utility police in the area of 1000 Reed Road, Costa said.

The pole was broken and there were wires laying in the road, he said.

The crash remains under investigation, he said.
