NEW BEDFORD — Two New Bedford men with prior drug convictions were arrested Saturday when New Bedford Police Narcotics Detectives executed two search warrants, according to police.

 

The target of the first search warrant was Thomas Barbosa, 53. The warrant was executed at 9:50 a.m. at his address of  228H State Street apt. 3. As result of the search, detectives seized a small amount of cocaine, cash, packaging materials and scales, Lt. Amos Melo said in a news release. Barbosa had a prior drug conviction from 1991. He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine and possession with intent to distribute class B subsequent offense (1991), Melo said.

 

The target of the second search warrant was Jamone Lloyd, 43. The warrant was executed at 12:30 p.m. at his address of 949 County Street apt. 2. As result of the search, detectives seized a small amount of heroin, cocaine, cash, packaging materials and scales, according to Melo. Lloyd was observed operating a motor vehicle before detectives executed the search warrant, he said. Lloyd had a prior drug conviction from 1995.  He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute class A heroin, possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possession with intent to distribute class A subsequent offense (1995) and possession with intent to distribute class B subsequent offense (1995), Melo said.
