Have a closet-full of Halloween or dress up costumes your kids have outgrown? Hoping to save some time and money on your family’s costumes this year?

The Middleborough Public Library will be hosting a very special event for parents and caregivers, an Autumn Social: DJ Dance Party and Costume Swap. This event will feature a chance for patrons to exchange their gently used costumes for new second-hand ones. In addition, families can enjoy light refreshments, make a trick or treat bag, create fall bookmarks, complete a scavenger hunt, and join in our dance party complete with tunes and games from 12-2 p.m. with DJ Andy of Superior Sound DJs. Costume attire welcome.

This unique event will take place on Thursday, October 14 in the library’s Large Meeting Room. The swap will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Costumes and accessories like props, hats or ears can be donated ahead of time at the children's desk prior to the event.

Patrons who donate costumes and/or accessories will receive a ticket that can be exchanged for a "new" costume at the swap (though we will happily take costume donations from patrons who have no need of a new one).
