WAREHAM — Police arrested three people Wednesday involved in drug dealing scheme.

Before detectives searched 223 Gatehouse Drive in East Wareham, they saw a Melissa MacDonald, 40, leave the apartment and meet Laura Alden, 53, of Buzzards Bay in a nearby parking lot. Police arrested MacDonald on a warrant, and during the arrest found a plastic baggie of crack cocaine.

Alden was placed under arrest when detectives found a small amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said.

In the apartment, shared by MacDonald and Louis Andrade, 46, detectives found crack cocaine (16 grams) and heroin (3 grams), along with pills later identified as Oxycodone. Several drug paraphernalia items, including a digital scale, plastic baggies, and Inositol were also found. Detectives found 9mm ammunition inside a sneaker, then an unloaded 9mm handgun with an attached clip containing 7 rounds, which was found in the apartment air conditioning duct, police said.

Andrade faces charges of distributing drugs, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, drug possession and possession of a firearm with three prior violent crime/drug offenses. MacDonald faces distributing drugs, possession, conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute. Alden faces possession and conspiracy charges.
