Lakeville Arts & Music Festival is a hit thanks to local support

To the Editor,

Lakeville Arts & Music Festival Organizing Committee would like to thank you and the Middleborough Gazette for your generous attention to promote the celebration of arts and culture at our thirteenth annual Lakeville Arts & Music Festival held this year on September 30.

The celebration would not have been a success without our many generous sponsors: Virginia Murdoch, Lakeville Animal Hospital, HarborOne Bank, Eastern Bank, Bridgewater Savings, Trucchi’s Supermarkets, Bristol County Savings, Rockland Trust, Southern Mass Credit Union, Divine Consign & Boutique, Heritage Flowers, Pet Recess, Williams Trading Post, and Somethin’s Brewin’ Book Cafe.

We cannot forget the hard work of our volunteers who assisted with all kinds of responsibilities throughout the day. The event would not be as successful were it not for their time. And let us not forget the Lakeville Lions Club! We thank them for cleaning up the islands at the intersection in the Center of Town. This is no small task. However their efforts help to make Lakeville look fantastic to all our out of town visitors!

The Lakeville Police Department did their usual fantastic job monitoring and directing the traffic of cars, people, and our canine friends. The men of the Lakeville Highway Department were instrumental in creating a safe and beautiful town center to show off before, during and long after the Festival is a faded memory and we thank them also.

Plus, a huge thanks to the crafters and artisans, entertainers, participants of the Scarecrow Row, food vendors, students past and present of Apponequest who help chalk drawing with our visitors, Old Engine #3 and the Old Colony Highlanders Pipe Band. By just participating they all made this years’ Lakeville Arts & Music Festival another memorable event.

Our Silent Auction business donations from LeBaron Hills Country Club, Williams Trading Post, Barrett’s Fireside Grille, Pet Food Shoppe, Peaceful Meadows, Tamarack Liquors & Heritage Flowers, Nature’s Pantry, Bernie & Phyl’s, Baldies, The Narrows, Edaville RR, Battle Ship Cove, Homestead Quilting & Fabrics, Battistini’s Bakery, Dermody Cleaners, Dairy Queen/Middleboro, Star Drive-In, Studio 54, Savas/Kool Moose, T. Dellarocco, Divine Consign & Boutique, also deserve a thank you for their contributions, which supports our continued efforts.

Finally we want to thank the citizens of southeastern Massachusetts and those that came from even an further distance for coming out this year to join us for a day of culture, art, music, and food. The support encourages us to continue the celebration in the future.

If anyone would like to comment on this years’ Festival or inquire about participating next year, please do so by contacting the Organizing Committee at LakevilleFestival@hotmail.com, on Facebook at LakevilleArtsCouncil.MA or send us a letter via snail mail at Lakeville Town Offices, c/o Lakeville Arts & Music Festival, 346 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347.

Yours in culture,
