NEW BEDFORD — A 14-year-old juvenile was apprehended for two larcenies at Wonder Bowl, 66 Hathaway Road, just hours after the issuance of an arrest warrant, police said.

The juvenile is a male from New Bedford and is not being identified by police because of his age.

The teen is charged with two counts of larceny from a building that were reported Oct. 24 and Nov. 11, according to a police spokeswoman. Police did not say what was stolen.

The arrest is described by the spokeswoman as an example of "solid (police) work."

An arrest warrant was issued Nov. 11 and less than four hours later, the juvenile was apprehended, she said. Taking part in the arrest were Officers Daniel Duclos, Donald Williams, Hank Turgeon, Damien Vasconcelos, and Dean Lawrence and his police canine. Police do not say what day the 14-year-old was arrested.

Further arrests may be coming in connection with the larcenies, the spokeswoman said.
