MIDDLEBORO — Christmas magic is in the making at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts as 26 students (ages 5 through 17) rehearse for the school's 9th annual holiday production.

This year the school will present “Elf Jr.” for eight performances from December 1 through December 10. The production is directed by Matthew Bruffee and produced by Lorna J. Brunelle, Artistic Director.

Mr. Bruffee was quoted this week, "This is the most "Christmassy" shows we have ever done. It is nice to come back to doing a Christmas show at Christmastime and ‘Elf’ is perhaps one the best new Christmas musicals out there right now for children and adults of all ages. The score is wonderful, catchy, and the action full of laughs, charm, and spirit. In addition, it will transport the audience into the heart of New York City which was my home for many years and many a joyous Christmas. There is nothing like the Big Apple during the Holidays!"

“Elf Jr.” opens December 1 and runs through December 10 at The Alley Theatre in Middleboro. The Alley Theatre is located at 133 Centre Street in Middleboro. Free parking is available in the Middleboro Town Hall parking lot. For more information, please call 508-946-1071.
