NEW BEDFORD — For the second consecutive night, officers responded to a shots-fired call Thursday night, police said.
The shooting happened about 6:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Pope Street, near the scene of Wednesday night's shorts-fired incident on Locust Street, according to the New Bedford Police Department logs. The locations are north of the city's downtown.
A NBPD spokeswoman said police responded to the area of Pope and Summer streets Thursday night. ShotSpotter, the city's gunshot detection system, was activated.
No injuries or property damage were reported, and the incident remains under investigation, she said.
There was a shots-fired incident about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 0 block of Locust Street, police said.
