NEW BEDFORD – Are you a resident with a business idea? Then WEB New Bedford wants to hear from you.

Twelve residents, with a focus on women and minorities, will be accepted into WEB New Bedford, a free eight-month business accelerator program, according to a news release. The pilot program -- from May 2 to Dec. 11 -- will "provide comprehensive services for residents who want help starting or growing their business in New Bedford."

After completing the program, each WEB New Bedford participant will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in seed funding for their business.

Information sessions are at 3 p.m. March 20 or at noon March 22 at the Greater New Bedford Career Center, 618 Acushnet Ave.

Applications are due April 13. They will be available starting Friday at gnbwib.org/webnewbedford or can be picked up at the SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce, CEDC, New Bedford Economic Development Council, Immigrant’s Assistance Center, Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board and the Greater New Bedford Career Center.

WEB New Bedford is funded through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing Economic Development Urban Agenda program.
