NEW BEDFORD — Some of this evening's outdoor events at AHA! Night might get moved inside or canceled as rain is expected to arrive this afternoon and into tonight.

All indoor AHA! events should go on as scheduled.

According to AccuWeather, an approaching cold front will move through Southern New England late today and tonight. The front will draw upon tropical moisture from Tropical Storm Michael, creating local downpours as it moves through. The remnants of Hurricane Michael will then pass south of Nantucket on Friday morning, maintaining a chance of showers during the morning.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated averaging around 2 to 3 inches for the area with locally heavier amounts especially with any thunderstorm activity as high as 3 to 5 inches.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued from 2 p.m. this afternoon through Friday morning.

Besides the rain, it'll be humid as temps reach 74 degrees. It's going be breezy, too, as winds from the southwest at 10 mph might gust to 17 mph at times.

Hold on tight to that umbrella!
