DARTMOUTH — The Dartmouth office of Spherion Staffing Services, a local recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions provider, is again in the giving spirit this holiday season with a $1,000 donation to SouthCoast YMCA.

This contribution is part of the annual Spherion Community Give Back program, a nationwide initiative which recognizes and advances the efforts of charitable organizations who make their communities a better place to live and work, a news release said.

Spherion’s Dartmouth franchise owner Karen Enroth said she selected SouthCoast YMCA based on their efforts to provide quality programs and services to meet the needs of the Greater New Bedford community. The YMCA also operates the Sharing the Harvest Community Farm, which has donated more than 450,000 pounds of produce to the community since 2006 and Enroth has served on the YMCA advisory board for several years.

“We are deeply grateful for the work of the SouthCoast YMCA and its team of volunteers,” said Enroth, in a statement. “This organization makes a tremendous impact on our community and the lives of our neighbors in need. Our office looks forward to opportunities to support and work with the SouthCoast YMCA. We are honored to spread the spirit of the season to support those who help others.”

Spherion is committed to making a difference in the Greater New Bedford community and enabling Spherion team members to volunteer time and resources to local partners is an important tenet of its business, the news release said. The Community Give Back contribution marks the third year of partnership with the SouthCoast YMCA, with additional efforts including volunteering on the Sharing the Harvest Community Farm.

Now in its fifth year, the national Spherion Community Give Back program enables each local franchise owner or ownership team to select one or more organizations of special meaning to receive a holiday donation. Since beginning the initiative in 2014, Spherion has rewarded non-profit recipients from across the country with nearly a million dollars.
