FAIRHAVEN — Laurent W. “Larry” Audette passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of 50 years, of Lauretta M. (Mello) Audette.

Born in Fairhaven, one of eleven children of Florida and Yvonne (Chevalier) Audette, he was a lifelong resident of the town and communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Larry served in the Army during WWII and later worked for the Fairhaven Housing Authority as a maintenance man at Oxford Terrace until his retirement.

He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his friends at the VFW in Acushnet.

He is survived by his wife; a son Gary Audette of Fairhaven; a daughter Laurel A. Bristow and her husband Michael Bristow, Jr. of Fairhaven; two granddaughters, Kayla and Krystal Cabral of Fairhaven; four brothers, Alfred, Albert, Robert and Louis Audette; two sisters, Roselyn Fouquette and Anita Signitz; and many nieces and nephews; Mr. Audette was the brother of the late John and Barbara Audette, Pauline Johnson and Estelle Carlson.

His Mass will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 9:00am in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will follow in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Calling hours are private. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. For memorial register go to, www.hathawayfunerals.com.
