SWANSEA — Mann Braga, age 70, of Swansea, passed away, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI. He was the husband of Bonnie J. (MacNaught) Braga.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel and Irene (Trindade) Braga, he was a graduate of Somerset High School and attended LeTourneau College in Longview, TX.
Mann owned and operated Mann Braga Associates for many years, specializing in building restaurants throughout New England and later subcontracted with Cornerstone Design/Build. As owner of Harry's Seafood Emporium in Swansea, he was proud winner of the Best Seafood Chowder at the Chowder Cook-Off in Newport in the late 80s.
He was an active member of the Spar Island Racing Association, J24 Racing, and enjoyed cooking, golfing, supporting his friends successful mushroom business and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children, Timothy Braga and his wife Rita of Somerset, Susan Braga of Somerset, Nicholas Braga of Brockton, Haley Braga of San Diego and Holly Braga of Swansea; a sister Carol Braga of Somerset; three grandchildren, Bella Hocker, Kiegen Braga and Zachary Porter Braga and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Burial will be private.
