WARWICK — Harold G. Rae, Jr., 86, passed away October 9, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Constance Laliberte Rae. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Angelina (Koszera) Rae.
Mr. Rae was the owner of Harold Rae Furniture Co. in New Bedford, specializing in antique furniture restoration. The company was started by his grandfather in 1907. Mr. Rae also taught special education industrial arts at Carney Academy in New Bedford for several years. He was a naval veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife and daughter, Cheryl Rae of Montana, he is survived by a sister, Mildred Almeida of Acushnet, MA, several nieces and nephews and his wife’s extended family. He was the brother of the late Isabel Breault, Beatrice Dort and Dorothy and Helen Rae.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 13 at 11:00 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick followed by burial with military honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Visitation will be Thursday, October 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
