MIDDLEBORO — July is full of family friendly summer fun at the Middleborough Public Library. There’s still time to sign your child up for Summer Reading and earn great prizes like free food, Lego sets and books. All ages can participate. Visit midlib.org for more details.

Here’s the schedule of events and activities for July.

Monday, July 10th at 10:30 am join Carol Carver of Self Help Inc.’s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement program for Celebrate the Magic. For children 3-6 years of age. Space is limited. Stop by or call the library at 508-946-2470 to register.

Monday, July 10th at 2 pm stop by the library for Drop-in Makerspace. Try Snap Circuits, learn to knit, and build something. Best for ages 7 and up. No registration required for this free event.

Mondays from July 10th- August 14th your child can read to a dog during Reading with Miss Marilyn’s Spaniels. Sign up for a 20 minute time slot. Stop by or call the library at 508-946-2470 to register.

Tuesdays July 11th, 18th and 25th from 4-6 pm you can build with Legos/Duplos at the Library during our Lego Brick Blowout. On July 25th we will be showing the newest Lego superhero flick during our program. (rated PG) No registration required for this free event. All ages welcome.

Wednesday, July 12th join Miss Amanda for a Preschool Storylab where we’ll build cars and have an indoor Drive-In. Kids 3-6 years of age are encouraged to come to the library at 10am to build a car out of recycled materials. At 10:30am we’ll be showing the first film in the animated series while we sit in our cars and enjoy snacks like a real Drive-In. No registration required for this free event.

Thursday, July 13th Songshine Music visits the library with her World Music program for kids 2-5 and their caregiver(s). Miss Lisa will bring songs, dance, and instruments to the library for this special program. There are two sessions- one at 10 am and the next at 11:15 am. Space is limited. Monday, July 17th at 11 am all ages are welcome to help the library build a Kindness Rock Garden. We will be creating messages of hope and inspiration by painting and writing on rocks which will be put into a garden in the Library’s courtyard. No registration is required for this free program. All ages welcome.

Tuesday, July 18th from 10 am-12 pm Arthur Evans and his son bring their 3D Printing program for kids age 8-12 to the library.  Learn about the process of 3D printing. Create a design to be printed and delivered to you at a later date. Space is limited. Please stop by or call the library at 508-946-2470 to register.

Wednesday, July 19th at 10:30 am kids 3-6 years old can build music at a Preschool Storylab. Create musical instruments out of recycled materials. Learn about the digeridoo- a wind instrument developed in Australia.

Thursdays, July 20th and 27th at 10:15 am kids from birth- 18 months can join Miss Amanda for Mother Goose on the Loose. Twenty minutes of music, stories, rhymes and more are followed by time to play and socialize. No registration required for this free program.

Thursdays, July 20th and 27th at 11:15 am toddlers from 18 months-3 years of age can join in Wiggles & Giggles. Twenty minutes of songs, movement, and parachute are followed by time to play and socialize. No registration required for this free program.

Monday, July 24th at 1 pm Sciencetellers return to the Library with Pirates: Lost at Sea. The audience will help the pirates build a new ship and learn about science through dazzling experiments. This program is free but space is limited. Pick up your free tickets for everyone attending the event beginning on Saturday, July 22nd. If you do not arrive by show time your seats may be forfeited.

Wednesday, July 26th at 10:30 am Marsha Wright of Self Help Inc.’s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement program brings her Dave the Potter program to the library. Learn about a slave who sent messages on each piece of pottery he made. Each child will make a pot to take home. Space is limited for this free program.
