LAKEVILLE — Back for its fourth year, Winterfest returns to both the Ted Williams Camp and the Lakeville Council of Aging on Sunday, January 28 from 1 p.m. to around 5 p.m.

The event will be presented by Bridgewater Savings Bank and Progroup Contracting in collaboration with other business sponsors from the area. Additional funding has been generously provided by Coldwell Banker Progroup Realtors, Eastern Bank, Pet Recess, Sha-nic Auto and Shraevel & Krems.

Funded generously through sponsors new and old, the town’s Community Development Committee is pleased to present Winterfest IV, which has only continued to attract and entertain those in Lakeville and the surrounding communities during the harsh winter months.

Wayne Demoranville will be returning this year to again create and display his ice sculptures, or wood carving depending on the weather. Sleigh Rides will be offered if snow is on the ground, and if not, wheels will be thrown on the carriage instead.

Other attractions at the event that have been confirmed, regardless of weather, include a cooking demonstration, a model train setup, alpacas, games, and more. After positive feedback last year, the event will be again emceed by a DJ who will help keep the flow of the event steady as well as conduct limbo games and other activities during the day.

Winterfest was born out of the Community Development Committee, which was in its infancy when the event was first thought of, and was created with the hopes of fostering a close-knit community feeling as one of its major goals.

One element organizers continue to leave unchanged is the event’s free admission — something that closely aligns with the community feel the organizers are trying to create.

At this year’s Winterfest, visitors will be able to meet and interact with members of Lakeville’s local boards and the event will also feature vendors from local businesses selling their unique, one-of-a-kind wares.
