MIDDLEBORO — After a season-opening loss, the Middleboro High School softball team has won three straight over Durfee, East Bridgewater and Sandwich on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week and were 3-1 heading into a week off for April vacation.

On Wednesday, the Lady Sachems took a 7-3 win over Sandwich behind 2-for-3 efforts from Sam Crowley, including an RBI and a run scored, and Caitlin Peck, who led off the second inning with a triple and came around to score.

Other highlights included contributions from sophomore Kara McManus and freshman Mandi Bukunt, each with a hit and an RBI.

Senior pitcher Laura Hatch picked up her third straight win, tossing 3 strike outs and giving up 6 hits.

On Tuesday, the offense went wild to the tune of 17 runs on 21 hits on the way to a 17-6 win over East Bridgewater.

Bukunt, the freshman, had a pair of triples and a pair of RBIs on a 3-for-6 day. McManus was 4-for-4 with 2 RBIS, Peck was 4-for-5 with an RBI, Hatch was 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and Crowley had one hit and 4 RBIs. Maddie Kilpeck was 2-for-6 with an RBI, Bethany Seifert was 2-for-4 and Tori Ulrich was 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs.
