South Middleboro Grange to host annual Father’s Day Breakfast

MIDDLEBORO — South Middleboro Grange will host the annual Father’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, June 17 from 8-10:30 am at the South Middleboro Grange Hall, Route 28, 570 Wareham Street, South Middleboro.

Breakfast includes: juice, farm fresh eggs served scrambled, bacon, home fries, toast, blueberry/plain pancakes and choice of coffee, tea or milk. Price is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.

All proceeds benefit South Middleboro Grange.

 

 

Boy Scout Troop 20 to celebrate 25th anniversary

MIDDLEBORO — Boy Scout Troop 20 of Middleboro will be having a potluck dinner and end of the year court of honor ceremony to celebrate their 25th Anniversary on Saturday June 23 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall 53 Oak Street in Middleboro.

Current and former scouts, leaders and friends of Troop 20 are welcome to attend. Tables will be set up for anyone wishing to bring Troop 20 memorabilia to display.

'Playing for Paws' music fundraiser to support Middleboro Animal Shelter

MIDDLEBORO — Playing for Paws, a musical benefit put on by three Nichols middle school students to support Middleboro Animal Shelter, will be held June 15 at the Central United Methodist Church, 14 School Street Middleboro, MA 02346 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

Four or five musical performers will play about 25 minutes each and light refreshments will be provided. Admission is a donation to the shelter in the form of either pet food, pet toys, wood shavings, or hay.

 

Bristol Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists meets third Saturday of every month

SOMERSET —The Bristol Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc. will present on “The Wonders of WikiTree: Adventures in Collaborative Genealogy” by Bristol Chapter member, Michael Lee Stills.  

Join Michael and the Bristol Chapter members as we examine new ways to explore old problems. Does your current genealogy website seem a bit stale? We will discuss how WikiTree uses the power of Collaborative Genealogy to break down walls, find new sources and help you grow your own family tree. Michael will explain how just signing the WikiTree Honor Code can open up new possibilities for in your search for ancestors.

The presentation will be held on Saturday, June 16th beginning at noon following the Business Meeting at the Somerset Public Library, 1464 County St., Somerset, MA.  This presentation is free and open to the public.
 
The Bristol Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc. is a local group interested in genealogy and family history. The group meets every third Saturday of the month at the Somerset Public Library and the Business Meeting begins 11:00am. Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.
