The annual Oak Point Fall/Holiday Craft Show set for Nov. 3

MIDDLEBORO — The annual Oak Point Fall/Holiday Craft Show will take place on Saturday, November 3 from 9am to 2pm in the Oak Point Clubhouse, Grand Ballroom and Gym. The Oak Point Clubhouse is located at 200 Oak Point Drive in Middleboro.

There will be over 50 tables of handmade items, such as jewelry, quilted items, photography, wreaths, ornaments, chocolates and more. Admission to the craft show and is free. Contact the Oak Point Social Director, Marybeth MacKay at 508-947-5406 or email mmackay@hometownamerica.net with questions.

Massachusetts Society of Genealogists meets Oct. 13 at Somerset Library

SOMERSET — The Bristol Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, October 13 at noon at the Somerset Public Library.  

Jodi Goodman and MaryEllen Cecil from the New Bedford Public Library will provide an overview of genealogy resources at the Main Library and information on a unique collaborative Special Collections project.

As part of the Special Collections team at the New Bedford Free Public Library, they work directly with the historical resources, documents and digital collections and assist researchers. Join us in this effort to catalogue and digitize these importance resources.
The Bristol Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc. is a local group interested in genealogy and family history. The group meets every third Saturday of the month at the Somerset Public Library.  The Business Meeting begins at 11:00am with Member Sharing time beginning at 11:30am followed by the presentation at noon.
