Cassidy Vaccari took care of the scoring for Dartmouth in a 1-1 field hockey tie at Sandwich on Saturday. Vaccari scored off a pass from Laura Mendell to give the Indians a 1-0 lead with 17:50 left in the first half. Sandwich tied the score with about eight minutes left to play.
Goalie Sarah Morin finished with five saves in net for the Indians (2-1-2, 0-0-0 Old Colony League).
"We had opportunities to get a couple of more goals, but we didn't capitalize," Dartmouth coach Beth Arguin said. "We struggled a little in the defensive circle, which is something we need to work on."
Dartmouth returns to action on Monday for a non-conference game at Old Rochester.

Ben Rioux was right behind in ninth place (13:59.05) and the Indians also got good efforts from Noah Derrick (15th in 14:21.96), Kam Ouellet (19th in 14:26.74) and Dawson Polochick (31st in 14:39.83). ... The Seawolves took six of the top eight spots to win their home meet on a 5k course on campus.
