Bri Cruz scored a hat trick to help lead Fairhaven to a 5-2 girls soccer win at Bourne on Wednesday.

Heaven Salfity and Fiona Furtado added goals for the Blue Devils, who led 2-0 at halftime and also got six saves from goalie Olivia Bernardo.

"It was a hard-fought game between two very similar teams," Fairhaven coach Walter Baiardi said. "Bri was the difference for us. She used her speed to get past defenders and attack the net. She finished well and gave us the spark we needed on offense."

Baiardi added that his team has been hanging tough in the face of some adversity this season.

"We've had a ton of injuries, but kids are stepping up and playing well at positions they're not used to," Baiardi said. "Everybody is pulling together to help the team."

Fairhaven (4-5-0, 4-5-0 South Coast Conference) plays at Apponequet on Friday.

The Dartmouth volleyball squad was able to raise $950 for its “Dig Pink” breast cancer fundraiser. Dartmouth will be on the road Thursday against Somerset Berkley.

Kat Kirby notched 12 kills and six aces to power the Cougars to a 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20 win. Jordyn Dexter had two aces and two kills to go along with 12 assists.
